“America’s Comeback Team.”
That’s what the GOP is calling its Presidential Nominee Mitt Romney and his Vice Presidential Running mate Paul Ryan. A poll by CNN/ORC released Thursday might just support that “Comeback” claim. Obama continues to hold the lead in the presidential race, but the margin has dropped to a 7-point difference. Ryan might have something to do with Romney’s recent boost. The Wisconsin representative has worked on the House Ways and Means Committee and chaired the House Budget Committee. While on the Budget Committee, he proposed “The Path to Prosperity: A Blueprint for American Renewal,” a series of possible solutions to our national debt crisis. Critics say Romney picked Ryan because of his work on this proposal. Ryan’s budget plan aligns with Romney’s promised policies for fiscal spending. His religious (Catholic) and midwestern background also seem a party bonus. His addition to the ballot is sure to make conservatives more supportive of the Romney train. Let’s just be glad Romney didn’t pick Sarah Palin.
